Umno Youth has granted an award to jailed former party president Najib Razak giving him appreciation and respect for his services and offerings to the benefit of Malaysia. The Umno Youth leadership award was given to his sons, Datuk Mohd Nazifuddin Najib and Datuk Nizar Najib, on the occassion of its annual general assembly on Thursday. The award is given annually in combination with the Umno annual general assembly, which is ongoing until Saturday.
Youth chief Muhamad Akmal Saleh appreciated Najib, who was Malaysia’s prime minister for nine years from 2009, for enforcing rules and regulations that emphasized the benefit of the people. The wing played a video montage of Najib, which was a video about his political career , the appreciation , recognition and love that he recieved because of his own efforts that he made for the welfare of people. Both his sons had tears in their eyes while they recieved award because it was a moment of honour and pride. Mr Nazifuddin, who is the member of Umno Youth exco, expressed his joy after having watched the video as it reminded him of his father’s links to the youth wing.
