Harris Could Join Joe Rogan Podcast in Bid for Male Votes, Sources Say

WASHINGTON – Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris may appear on Joe Rogan’s popular podcast as part of her strategy to attract more male voters, particularly young men and Black men, sources familiar with the discussions said on Monday.

Harris campaign officials reportedly met with Rogan’s team this week, though a final decision on the appearance has not yet been confirmed, the sources said. Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, is the most popular in the U.S., with a massive following that could provide Harris with a significant platform as she looks to gain ground in a tight race against Republican nominee Donald Trump.

Rogan’s audience is predominantly male, with a large percentage under 35, a demographic that polling suggests leans more toward Trump. The podcast, which has tens of millions of devoted listeners, would offer Harris an opportunity to reach young, male voters—a group she needs to court ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

In an effort to appeal to Black male voters, Harris on Monday rolled out a series of new policy proposals aimed at this group, typically a reliable Democratic voting bloc. The campaign also announced she will participate in an interview with Fox News, a network known for conservative programming that often favors Trump.

Trump, meanwhile, has indicated his own potential appearance on Rogan’s podcast before Election Day. While the two have had disagreements in the past, Trump has recently praised Rogan as a “good guy” despite previously criticizing him on social media. Rogan, who has publicly stated he is not a Trump supporter, had previously expressed support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has since endorsed Trump after dropping out of the race.

An appearance on Rogan’s podcast would be a significant moment for both candidates, as polls show an exceptionally close race that could hinge on key swing states. Rogan’s audience, largely seen as a stronghold for Trump, could offer a pivotal opportunity for Harris to sway undecided male voters.

As of March, Rogan’s podcast had 14.5 million followers on Spotify and over 36 million followers across social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube. A 2022 poll by YouGov revealed that 81% of Rogan’s listeners are male, adding to the significance of this potential media appearance in the final days of the campaign.
