Chinese President Xi Jinping revealed how Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is an old friend of him and he wishes that their friendship proves to be helpful for both China and USA. As they can mutually perform activities to enhance the wellbeing of nations. Both of them got to see each other at Beijing’s Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Xi Jinping expressed his joy while meeting Bill Gates, after so many years. Bill Gates expressed his sorrow of not being able to visit since four years. He feels thrilled to be back and he had many plans to converse about various topics. Mr. Gates was honoured to have a wonderful meeting with his old friend from China.
Mr Gates came to Beijing on Wednesday and this visit of him is his first visit to the nation in the last four years, because of Covid-19 pandemic. On his part, Mr Xi stopped visiting abroad for about three years as China restricted its borders. His international meetings since the reopening have almost happened with another state ruler. Mr Gates delivered a speech at the GHDDI, the Gates Foundation said, China is making efforts in removing malaria and working on poverty reduction. “China has been successful in reducing poverty and improving health outcomes within China,” Mr Gates said. He is hopeful that China will play its significant part in acknowledging the current problems and taking steps to resolve them.
