Australia’s prominent opposition Liberal Party ruler commanded a senator to resign because of the allegations of sexual harassment against him by female senators. The allegations against Liberal Party Senator David Van has been taken very seriously. There were many complaints about the system in Australia’s Parliament House, which resulted in an inquiry in 2021. The research revealed that one of three people working there had been a victim of sexual assault. Lidia Thorpe has enforced allegations on Mr Van of following her and touching her inappropriately. He said these allegations were false. Also, former Liberal senator Amanda Stoker revealed in a statement that Mr Van wrongly touched her at a party in 2020 by squeezing her bottom twice. This makes his case worse. Mr. Van states that his reputation, name and fame has been ruined even when he is innocent. The matter is under investigation by Parliament’s workplace authority.
