Woman Pleads Guilty to Assault for Throwing Milkshake at UK’s Nigel Farage

LONDON — A woman who threw a banana milkshake at Nigel Farage, leader of Britain’s Reform Party, has pleaded guilty to assault by beating, according to reports from PA Media. The incident took place in June during Farage’s general election campaign outside a pub in Clacton-on-Sea, southeast England.

Victoria Thomas Bowen, 25, admitted to launching a McDonald’s banana milkshake at Farage, the right-wing politician best known for his role in championing the UK’s departure from the European Union. Farage, who had been targeted in a similar milkshake incident in 2019, later won a seat in Parliament following the election.

Bowen changed her plea to guilty on charges of assault by beating and criminal damage, admitting that she caused £17.50 ($22.79) of damage to the jacket of Farage’s security guard. Her lawyer, Andrew Price, told Sky News that Bowen decided to change her plea after receiving numerous threats.

Bowen has been granted unconditional bail and is scheduled to be sentenced on December 16. Prosecutors have declined to comment on the case.
