Uttarakhand Biotechnology Council Sets World Record on State Foundation Day

India: In a remarkable feat, the Uttarakhand Biotechnology Council achieved a world record on the twenty-third Foundation Day of the state. The event took place at the council’s location in Haldi,Pantnagar (Uttarakhand) where a workshop was organized to create mountain seed Balls.

The workshop brought together students from 305 different schools, along with teachers, scientists, and council employees, all under the guidance of Council Director Dr. Sanjay Kumar. In just ten minutes, they successfully prepared an astonishing 3085 seed balls, earning recognition in both the Asean World Records and International Book of Records.

On Uttarakhand’s State Foundation Day, a special program was organized at the Uttarakhand Biotechnology Council. Participants from schools like R.A.N Public School in Rudrapur, D.P.S. in Rudrapur and Haldwani, Hiravati Madhanand Joshi Saraswati Vihar School, Shantipuri, and Campus School in Pantnagar collaborated to achieve this remarkable feat.

The record-breaking accomplishment was conducted under the supervision of International World Records representatives Mr. Kaushal Kumar and Ms. Priyanka Kulshrestha. The seed Balls, known as ‘kamandal’, will play a crucial role in promoting afforestation in hilly areas when distributed.

Special recognition goes to the NCC (National Cadet Corps) for their significant contribution, particularly Commanding Officer S.S. Rathore, Coordinator Dr. Sumit Purohit, and the dedicated scientists Dr. Manindra Mohan, Dr. Sakshi Painuli, and Anuj Kumar.

This achievement not only adds a feather to Uttarakhand’s cap but also underscores the importance of collaborative efforts for environmental conservation and afforestation.
