The historic Undi18 constitutional amendment that made amendments in the rules and lowered Malaysia’s voting age from 21 to 18 and automatic voter registration was considered as one of the hugest democratic transformation in recent history. The move was ruled by then Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman under the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration, which, in the 2018 election, brought down Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN), which had been in power for 61 years.
