Visitors who visit Japan’s theme parks will have to splurge out more lavishly for tickets from August, ahead of an increase in Japan Rail Pass (JR Pass) prices as well. The ticket of a one-day admission ticket for adults to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka will rise to as much as 10,400 yen (S$97.90) in the month of August. A check on the theme park’s website by The Straits Times unveiled that ticket prices are now between 8,600 yen and 9,800 yen, also the price will be 10,400 yen from Aug 12 to 20. This is the time when Japan cherishes the Obon festival to honor expired ancestors.
From the month of October, a one-day adult admission ticket to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will charge 10,900 yen for adults during the most occupied periods. One-day tickets for people aged 18 or older are currently priced at four price points between 7,900 yen and 9,400 yen. From October, two new pass price tags of 9,900 yen and 10,900 yen will be invented. The most expensive tickets will be solely for weekends and festive celebrations like Christmas and New Year holiday time period. According to Oriental Land, a single-day pass for people aged between 12 and 17 during the most occupied days will get higher by 1,200 yen to 9,000 yen. Tickets for children aged four to 11 will only be priced 5,600 yen.
