Four Dead, Including Two Children, After Fuel Station Blast in Russia’s Chechnya

MOSCOW – A fuel tank explosion at a gas station in Grozny, the capital of Russia’s Chechen Republic, has claimed the lives of four people, including two children, the region’s emergencies ministry reported on Saturday.

The explosion sparked a fire at the station, leaving five more people injured. Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya, announced on Telegram that he is personally overseeing the situation and vowed that those responsible for the blast will face justice, although further details were not provided.

This tragic incident follows similar explosions in the neighboring Dagestan region, where blasts at fuel stations in September 2024 and August 2023 resulted in 13 and 35 fatalities, respectively. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the latest explosion.
