Disturbing earthquakes in western Afghanistan took away lives of exceeding than 2,000 people and wounded approximate 9,000, the Taliban administration revealed a few days back.The demise toll from Saturday’s quakes hindered from 500 revealed on Sunday morning by a Red Crescent spokesperson and 16 from Saturday night. The quakes around the western city of Herat were the most horrible and traumatic experience that people had to go through.
The earthquake impacted 35km north-west of Herat, with one measuring magnitude 6.3, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) unveiled. One further aftershock of magnitude 4.2 impacted the same region at around 7am on Sunday, the USGS revealed. Mr Mullah Janan Sayeeq, spokesman for Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, revealed tha 2,053 people lost their precious lives, 9,240 wounded and 1,329 abodes destructed.
