INDIA – JIE International School, Uttarakhand, recently organized a communication skills workshop for its teachers, led by personality development and soft skills trainer Shikha Kalra. The event, attended by School Branch Director Sunita Singh and all faculty members, began with a traditional welcome for Kalra, who was honored with a tilak and a bouquet of flowers.

During the training session, Shikha Kalra emphasized the crucial role of communication skills in effective teaching. She highlighted three key components: listening, watching, and learning. Kalra explained that mastering these elements can significantly enhance a teacher’s ability to instruct and support students, leading to better educational outcomes.

“Effective communication is fundamental for teachers,” Kalra said. “Being proficient in communication skills enables better teaching and helps in fostering a positive learning environment.”

Sunita Singh, in her address, encouraged teachers to build strong relationships with their students to facilitate a deeper understanding of the subjects. She reminded the faculty of the high expectations parents have when entrusting their children to educators, stressing the importance of ensuring the holistic development of students.

“Teachers must be skilled and confident,” Singh said. “With self-confidence and good knowledge, one can succeed in any field, and it is vital to instill this belief in children from a young age.”
