Ahmedabad to Host IPL Final on June 3 After Tournament Resumes Post-Ceasefire

INDIA – Ahmedabad will host the Indian Premier League (IPL) final on June 3, according to a revised schedule announced by the organisers on Tuesday, following a temporary suspension of the tournament due to armed conflict between India and Pakistan. The IPL, which was halted on May 9, resumed on Saturday after a ceasefire agreement. However, the restart match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders was washed out by rain without a single ball being bowled.

The final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which will also host Qualifier 2 on June 1. Meanwhile, the first qualifier on May 29 and the eliminator on May 30 will take place at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh. These playoff fixtures were originally scheduled to be held in Hyderabad and Kolkata, but had to be shifted due to adverse weather conditions in the southern regions of India.

As part of the revised fixtures, RCB’s final home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has been moved to Lucknow. They will also face Lucknow Super Giants there for their final away match. The changes reflect the organisers’ efforts to ensure the smooth continuation and completion of the tournament amid unpredictable challenges.
