Washington and Tokyo vow closer chip cooperation

The US and Japan will strengthen their ties in the field of research and development of advanced chips and  technologies. They will also be  collaborating on quantum computing and conversations on artificial intelligence.
Both, Washington and Tokyo bring down the exposure to China and are willing to work together to expand chip manufacturing. This is deliberately being done to enjoy economic growth in the particular lands. The two countries agreed to work together to recognize and solve geographic concentrations of production eroding semiconductor supply chain resilience.
They also agreed with the idea of polishing supply chains by collaboration with countries who are developing. Japan has located a new chip maker which is Rapidus. It is working with International Business Machines (IBM) to develop advanced logic semiconductors. It is also giving subsidies to US memory maker Micron Technology. This is being done to increase production in the area.
