Ajmer, India’s Green Festival Earns a Spot in the ASEAN WORLD RECORDS

Ajmer, India’s ‘Green Army and Green Grehani Sansthan’ in collaboration with 42 social organizations and some schools organized a remarkable event this year, the Hariyali Utsav 2023. This joint plantation program aimed to transform the landscape by planting 3000 plants in just 3 minutes on August 19th, 2023.

The vibrant event unfolded along the stretch from Dainik Bhaskar Office on Makarwali Road to Bhairuvada Panchsheel. The main event hub was the Ajmer Engineer Institute, located on Makarwali Road, Panchsheel. A remarkable spectacle awaited, as the collective effort aimed to plant an astounding 3000 plants in just 03 minutes. They achieved this feat and have registered their name in the ASEAN World Records. They had put immense time and effort FOOT the past one month to make this happen.

The district and sessions judge Sangita Sharma graced this occasion with her support and presence. The central purpose of the Hariyali Utsav was to foster a strong bond between the common man and tree plantation, designating a day each year to celebrate the act of planting trees – Hariyali Amavas.

For the past 5 years, the Green Army Institute, District Legal Services Authority, and prominent Ajmer organizations have orchestrated successful tree plantation programs. From Lohagal Road Jail to Aryan College, Jaipur Road with Training Institute (J.T.I.) to Dayanand Mahavidyalaya with D.A.V. College, these initiatives have engaged both the administration and the public to nurture the green landscape.

The festival witnessed the introduction of diverse plant species, including the vibrant Kaner (red and yellow), Bogan vine, and 500 substantial trees, each adorned with protective guards. The meticulous spacing of 1.5 feet between plants extends across a total distance of 3 kilometers, fostering an enchanting green divider and side along the route.

The Hariyali Utsav 2023 promises to be an awe-inspiring celebration of nature’s generosity, a unifying force that brings communities together and ignites a collective spirit of environmental stewardship. In a world where conservation is paramount, Ajmer, India sets an example of how collective action can make a profound difference in preserving the beauty of our planet for future generations.
