SA KAEO – Authorities in Sa Kaeo province were called to investigate a disturbing case on February 6 after a man attempted to send two dried infant bodies through a private courier service to a recipient in Chiang Mai.
Employees at a logistics shop in Aranyaprathet district became suspicious of a package and requested to inspect its contents. Inside, they discovered two small, blackened human remains. The shop immediately alerted local police, prompting Sa Kaeo Deputy Police Chief Colonel Jaturaphat Singhatsathit to take charge of the case.
The man attempting to send the parcel, identified as 47-year-old Chai, claimed he was merely delivering it on behalf of its owner, a self-proclaimed black magician named Pol, 39. Police later searched Pol’s shop in Tambon Pa Rai, where he admitted to purchasing the infant bodies from Samut Prakan for 10,000 baht (approximately S$400).
Pol, who has been running his spiritual business for three years, alleged that a group of Chinese tourists visited his shop twice—once in December 2024 and again on January 22. Upon seeing the preserved remains, they reportedly expressed interest in buying them for 30,000 baht and asked him to ship them to an address in Chiang Mai. Authorities are currently deliberating potential charges against Pol as the investigation continues.
