KYIV: A Russian drone strike targeted the central market in Nikopol, Ukraine, on the morning of Dec 26, injuring eight people, local authorities reported. Dnipropetrovsk governor Serhiy Lysak stated on Telegram that seven of the injured required hospitalization after the attack damaged multiple market stalls. This incident follows Russia’s Christmas Day assault on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which claimed one life in the region.
The Ukrainian military announced it intercepted 20 out of 31 drones launched by Russia overnight. Among the drones, 11 “imitator drones” failed to hit their intended targets due to active military engagement, according to the military’s statement.
