Steady downpours in Chongqing for many days resulted in the strongest stretch of rainfall since the rainy season started, state media conveyed. The rainy season in China takes place from May to September 2023. Between 8am on June 29 and 8am on July 3, Chongqing had persistent rain with about 219mm registered in the city’s Beibei district, CCTV news revealed. The Sibuhe railway bridge in Chongqing partially collapsed after being disturbed majorly by flood waters.
