OYO Teams Up with KOPA and Penang FC to Support Young Malaysian Footballers

KUALA LUMPUR – Global hospitality leader OYO has joined forces with Koperasi Pembangunan Anak-Anak Pulau Pinang Berhad (KOPA) and Penang Football Club (Penang FC) in a new partnership aimed at supporting youth athletes. Under the agreement, OYO will serve as the official accommodation partner for Penang FC’s junior teams—PFC II and PFC III—providing consistent and affordable lodging during their league travels across Malaysia.

The collaboration was formalized with a memorandum of understanding signed by all parties, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthen infrastructure and improve the welfare of young footballers. The initiative is designed to give players access to comfortable rest during travel, ensuring optimal performance on the pitch.

Raymond Chen, Country Business and Operations Head at OYO Malaysia, highlighted the broader significance of the partnership: “This collaboration with KOPA and Penang FC allows us to contribute beyond hospitality, aligning with national goals for youth development and community progress.”

With over 100 company-serviced hotels in major Malaysian cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, and Ipoh, OYO is well-positioned to provide consistent support to traveling teams. The partnership also aligns with OYO’s strategy to deepen community involvement and strengthen its national footprint.

KOPA CEO En Farouk praised the collaboration, noting, “OYO’s proven track record and dedication to quality make them an ideal partner in our mission to develop young talent and uplift communities.”

This alliance underscores OYO Malaysia’s commitment to creating lasting social impact by partnering with organizations that champion youth, sports, and empowerment. It also reinforces the company’s evolution into a platform that supports aspirations and well-being across diverse communities in Malaysia.
