Over 100 Dead Dolphins Found on Somali Coast, Cause Unknown

BOSASO, Somalia – More than 100 dolphins have been discovered dead along the coast of Puntland, a semi-autonomous region of Somalia, sparking concerns and prompting an investigation. The region’s fisheries minister, Abdirisak Abdulahi Hagaa, confirmed that at least 110 carcasses were found near the port city of Bosaso.

Samples have been collected to determine the cause of death, with initial findings ruling out injuries from fishing nets or the presence of toxic materials, as local fish populations appear unaffected. The sight has drawn crowds of residents and soldiers, many struggling with the stench from the decomposing carcasses. Investigations are ongoing as authorities seek answers to this unexplained environmental tragedy.
