Japan passed an immigration law on friday which gives the right to government to deport failed asylum seekers. People who applied had to stay in japan until the decision was declared. Now, they might get deported after they get rejections three times. Minister Ken Saito has said that the reviewed decision will be helpful for people for protecting those who should be protected. While the decision will also make sure to deal stringently with the ones who violate rules.
According to Mr Saito, there are several people who take advantage of the application system in order to keep away from deportation. Activists conducted rallies in opposition to the revised law, but a protest from the opposition bloc in Parliament was voted down by the leading alliance, which has a commanding majority.Tokyo Bar Association says that it is not fair to deport people back to their places even if they have criminal records. The leading Liberal Democratic Party explains that the reviewed law will bring better availability of medical care and accommodation choices for people whose asylum applications are unresolved.
