According to the US Department of Commerce, US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo will visit Asia for the first time from Monday (November 15) through Thursday (November 18). Ms. Raimondo will meet with government officials and business leaders in Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia during her visit.
Ms. Raimondo’s first stop will be in Tokyo, where she will meet with Koichi Hagiuda, Minister of Trade, Economy, and Industry, Yoshimasa Hayashi, and Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno. Ms. Raimondo will then spend two days in Singapore on November 16. She will meet Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Minister of Communications and Information Josephine Teo, and Minister of Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong during her visit to Singapore.
At the National University of Singapore, she will co-host a Women in Tech: Seizing Opportunities in the Digital Economy event with Mrs. Teo.
Ms. Raimondo will join the Bloomberg New Economy Forum on November 17, an exclusive gathering of senior business leaders and government officials to discuss global concerns. There are likely to be 300 in-person guests from 51 nations.
Ms. Raimondo will then spend two days in Singapore on November 16.
