The Negeri Sembilan State takes an applaudable decision to distribute tablets for free to needy and poor

Negeri Sembilan is a Malaysian state on the Malay Peninsula’s southwest coast, known for its beaches, nature parks and palaces. The Negeri Sembilan State Government allocated 2 million Malaysian Ringgit to buy tablets that will be distributed to the needy and poor students. Income of the major population has been affected because of the Covid-19 pandemic. In such circumstances, it is impossible for the poor or needy to buy tablets for their children.
Honorable Veerapan Subramanian, Member of Assembly, the state executive council member, Government of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia appreciated the state government’s move of providing tablets to the needy. The schools are closed because of the coronavirus pandemic and the students are not allowed to attend classes physically. The classes are conducted online via different mediums. To access the online classes, a student needs to have a mobile device. Without a mobile operating system, it is not possible to attend online classes. Those who do not have access to mobile devices are suffering huge loss in education.
The pandemic has adversely affected the financial conditions of many people. Therefore the move of the government to provide tablets to the needy so that they can attend classes online is laudable. Now the students will be able to attend online classes regularly and continue their education. Education is the backbone of the society and because of the pandemic, it has caused many problems and hurdles.
In such a situation where hundreds and thousands of students are unable to continue their education because they do not have access to mobile devices, the move by the Negeri Sembilan State to distribute tablets to the needy and poor is so thoughtful and valuable. The exemplary decision is praiseworthy and commendable.
