Thailand is prioritizing the Astrazeneca shots for themselves, says Taiwan

President Tsai Ing on Friday stated that Thailand is prioritizing the covid 19 vaccine- AstraZeneca for themselves as the pandemic is severe in Thailand. Because of this, there has been a considerable delay in deliveries.
There is a spike of covid-19 cases in Taiwan, and about 3% of the total population, 23.5 million people have received the first shot of vaccine as the leftover millions of doses are yet to come.
As per Tsai Ing, the problem is that the goods that were supposed to arrive in June still haven’t been delivered. A few months ago, Taiwan had placed an order for 10 million doses of AstraZeneca, which is currently being produced in Thailand.
But as the epidemic situation in Thailand has gone severe, the company and the country are focussing on getting the vaccines for their purpose. On Tuesday, the health minister of Taiwan told the lawmakers that there would be a delay in the procurement of AstraZeneca as there is a production problem going on Thailand plant.
Currently, the Taiwan government is having emergency talks with japan and the united states so that they can procure as many vaccines as they can.
