The Indian government has recently sent a proposal to Singapore to build an air travel bubble as Singapore is taking a lot of steps and putting in a lot of effort into rebuilding the air travel, which will be safe for the travellers and the residents. This statement was released by Simon Wong, who is the high commissioner of Singapore to India.
Mr Wong also thanked the Indian government for sending around 400 Singaporean citizens back to Singapore amidst the pandemic. He has further stated that the India-Singapore partnership s very strong, and air connectivity between both countries is the need of the hour as both countries had a very good trade flow, investment, and people exchange before the pandemic.
The high commissioner is in India for meetings and is very happy as the state government of Tamil Nadu is very much interested in working with foreign investors, and he stated that Singapore wants to be a part of the economic transformation in which the government of Tamil Nadu is planning.
Singaporean investments are still coming to India despite the pandemic, and around $500 million has been invested in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu and Singapore have a very close relationship, so Singapore is keen on investing in Tamil Nadu and is also thinking of considering the air bubble proposal.
