A few days ago, a video went viral on social media wherein a Bangladeshi woman was being tortured and sexually assaulted. This video prompted an investigation by the Bangladeshi police, and the officials said that these traffickers were enticing women with the promise of a well-paid job in India.
Upon investigation, the police officials got to know that these girls mainly belong to the lower-income groups, and they signed up on the promise that they will become stars in idea and get promised jobs in the malls.
Once they enter India, they are tortured and forced to indulge in sexual activities in various hotels. These traffickers would then make videos and threaten to release them if these women resist.
Last week the Indian police arrested the suspected coordinator at the same place where the video was being made. The seven traffickers were then detained in Bangladesh this week.
