Protesters gathered outside a crematorium in India’s capital on Thursday (Aug 5) after a nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered, the latest in a spate of heinous sexual crimes against women in India that have drawn international condemnation.
The girl was allegedly murdered while gathering water from a crematorium. They did not respond to requests for comment, and Reuters was unable to determine whether or not they had hired lawyers.
Near her home in New Delhi’s Cantonment district on Sunday. When the girl did not return, her family said they sought her and saw some of the suspected culprits who worked at the crematorium incinerated her body against her family’s wishes.

Around a hundred people gathered near the site on Thursday, chanting slogans and continuing the protests that had been going on for several days. According to police, four males have been arrested on allegations of rape, murder, and criminal intimidation.
