Pacific ire at Australia’s backing of fossil fuels

Pacific islands spoke about anxiety  at Australia’s subsidies for fossil fuels, picking out climate problems as a point of friction between the adjacent nations. Two Pacific ministers were available in a joint live stream to criticize Australia’s passionate interest for coal and gas projects. Vanuatu’s Climate transformation Minister Ralph Regenvanu has rolled out the red carpets for Australia’s pledge in 2022 to change towards renewable energy. Mr Regenvanu told how they are feeling disappointed due to Australia continues to subsidise fossil fuel. We require money in the renewable energy sector. That’s where the future of our economies resides and not in the fossil fuel industry. Mr Regenvanu asked why Canberra carries to pump billion dollars into the fossil fuel industry, which we in the Pacific have confirmed  involving Australia, is the biggest threat to our security.
