KUALA LUMPUR – Oravel Stays Limited, the parent company of OYO, announced it has rebranded as PRISM, a move the company says reflects its expanded global portfolio and long-term vision.
Founded in 2012 by Ritesh Agarwal, OYO began as a budget travel-tech brand focusing on standardizing small hotels to make affordable, reliable stays accessible worldwide. Since then, it has grown into a diversified hospitality and living ecosystem spread across more than 35 countries, serving over 100 million customers.
The PRISM portfolio spans a wide range of brands: OYO, Motel 6, Townhouse, Sunday and Palette in hotels; Belvilla, DanCenter and CheckMyGuest in vacation homes; Studio 6 in extended stays; plus Innov8 co-working spaces and Weddingz.in celebration venues. It also powers partners through advanced tech solutions, using AI and data science to drive efficiencies, partner growth and customer experience.
The rebrand positions OYO as the consumer-facing budget travel identity, while PRISM becomes the unifying parent company brand. “The transition to PRISM marks the establishment of a future-ready corporate architecture designed to align our expanding portfolio with our long-term vision,” said Ritesh Agarwal, Founder & Group CEO of PRISM.
Carmen Lam, Owner of Hotel O Asia City in Malaysia, welcomed the move, calling it an opportunity to “deepen this partnership and accelerate growth.”
The brand name PRISM, chosen through a global competition that drew more than 6,000 submissions, was selected to represent clarity, diversity and the spectrum of offerings within the growing group.
