JERUSALEM – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on April 3 that Israeli airstrikes, alongside US support, have demolished about 70% of Iran’s steel production capacity, severely limiting Tehran’s ability to produce missiles, drones, and ships.
” Together with our American friends, we continue to crush the terror regime in Iran,” Netanyahu stated in a video address. “In recent days, the Air Force has destroyed 70% of Iran’s steel production capacity—a tremendous achievement that deprives the Revolutionary Guards of financial resources and weapons manufacturing.”
Iran’s largest facilities, Khuzestan Steel Company and Mobarakeh Steel Company, have shut down after repeated US-Israeli attacks, with both estimating months for repairs.
In retaliation, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards fired missile and drone strikes on regional industrial zones and Israel, vowing escalated responses to future assaults. The blows target steel’s critical role in Iran’s military-industrial complex amid the intensifying conflict.
