SEREMBAN — The Negeri Sembilan state government is set to hold discussions with Gas Malaysia and Petronas to initiate a comprehensive safety assessment of gas pipelines across the state, Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun announced.
Speaking at a district-level Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, Aminuddin confirmed that both Gas Malaysia and Petronas oversee the two main gas pipelines running through the state. However, he noted that no formal decisions have been made yet, as both companies are currently prioritizing the situation in Selangor.
“The study will not be limited to gas pipelines alone,” Aminuddin emphasized. “We will also focus on the safety and condition of other essential utility channels, including drainage systems, telecommunications lines, and water supply pipes.”
He extended his condolences to those affected by the recent gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights and expressed hope for lasting solutions to prevent similar incidents. Aminuddin also mentioned that the state government, together with NGOs and various agencies, has mobilized humanitarian aid to support the victims during this difficult time.
