Mobile Film Making Workshop Successfully Organized at SARC Education Foundation

Kanchanpur, Nepal – A two-day mobile film making workshop recently concluded at the College Auditorium of SARC Education Foundation, leaving participants equipped with practical skills and knowledge in the art of mobile film making. The workshop, jointly organized by the Global Institute of Mass Communication and Startup Media Production, was led by Voice Asia under the coordination of Kaushal Kumar, Chairman of the Ray Foundation.

The workshop aimed to introduce 60 students from SARC Education Foundation to various aspects of pre-production and mobile film making techniques. Renowned industry experts Vikas Ranjan Singh and S.S. Dogra shared valuable insights and practical tricks with the participants. Vikas Ranjan Singh, Founder of Startup Media Production, emphasized the importance of producing high-quality films using mobile devices. He provided guidance on different shot compositions and sound recording while creating films on mobile platforms. S.S. Dogra emphasized the need for today’s youth to acquire versatile skills in response to the evolving demands of the news industry and the changing landscape of new media.

The second day of the workshop involved an outdoor shooting session, where the students had the opportunity to apply their newly acquired knowledge under the backdrop of the local ancient Vishnu temple excursion. The session focused on exploring the nuances of new media and mobile documentary making. Laxman Basnet, founder of SARC Education Foundation, emphasized the importance of staying updated with the latest techniques in film making. He highlighted the transition from traditional reel and digital cameras to the accessibility and improved quality of mobile cameras, which have made film production more convenient, cost-effective, and time-efficient. Basnet emphasized the significance of organizing such workshops at SARC Education Foundation to cater to the growing interest among young individuals in mobile film making.
