PETALING JAYA – Malaysian educator Galvin Lee Kuan Sian has claimed two top individual prizes “Lecturer of the Year” and “Innovative Educator of the Year” at the Global Education Awards 2025, held alongside the Global Excellence Conclave in Bangkok on December 6. The awards spotlight exceptional educators from 14 Asian countries for pioneering teaching that fuses innovation, measurable impact, and tech to equip students for future industries.
Galvin Lee, a Diploma in Business lecturer and programme coordinator at Taylor’s College, School of Diploma and Professional Studies, also serves as a PhD candidate in Marketing at Universiti Malaya’s Asia-Europe Institute, researching consumer behaviour and e-commerce across ASEAN. Renowned for over a dozen gold wins in global higher education innovation contests, Lee integrates AI, simulations, and gamification into marketing courses like Consumer Behaviour.
His standout Global Voices: AI Persona Lab immerses students in AI-driven scenarios from consumer mapping to strategy design, earning golds at the 2025 International e-Content Development Competition and International University Carnival on E-Learning. Students praise it for making theory “practical and real.””This recognition amplifies my platform to share frameworks with Asian educators and link innovations to research-proven outcomes,” Lee said, emphasizing safe spaces for students to experiment with decisions.
A Kuching native with first-class honours in Finance and Economics, plus an MBA from the UK, Lee holds Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert status for 2025-2026. The awards, by the Global Excellence Conclave, celebrate Asia’s EdTech vanguard amid rapid digital shifts in learning.
