Malaysian boy with one leg finishes last in 100m race but wins the Internet

In spite of completing a foot race behind rest of the competitors, a Malaysian schoolboy’s dedication to win it has supported him to first win the hearts of people who saw his dedication and attempt online. In a video that has been seen by around 650,000 people, 11-year-old Aqil Naufal Zahiran can be located warming up at the starting line for the 100m race with two crutches.

He is participating in the school athletic championships for special education students in Jerantut, Pahang. Whilst rest of the four competitors run ahead and are soon located nowhere, Aqil can be located trying steady strides, whilst a woman later was seen as his teacher is seen running along his side, beside him, just off the track. The elder of two siblings, Aqil told Malaysian daily Harian Metro that he lost his leg in the year 2015 after dealing and battling with a bacterial infection.

Confirming to feeling nervous before the race last Wednesday because he felt that he will be highlighted that day , he also conveyed that he did four days of training and was passionate to win the race. “I was participating for the first time, and embarrassed, standing beside other competitors. But I went on even though my trousers almost fell off because I thought that no matter what befell, I wished to end the run,” he said. “Even when my friends were already far in front.”
