Malaysian borders for students will reopen on the 1st of January


Starting the 1st of January, international students can ow enter Malaysian, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the senior minister’s security cluster. Ismail also stated that there would be an exception for the students coming from the united kingdom as a new strain of coronavirus has appeared recently.
Students who are eligible for return on the 1st of January are returning to their respective universities, schools, and the students who have received offers from Malaysian schools and universities and already have a place to live.
And he emphasized that the government will not allow any students coming from the united kingdom as the cases are rising there rapidly. This decision was made collectively by the national security as well as the ministry of higher education.
The students coming to Malaysia should follow the SOP’s (standard operating procedures laid down by the National Security Council.
Ismail stated that these students would have to undergo the covid 19 test 3 days before their travel date and undergo a swab test immediately once they arrive in Malaysia. The students who test negative will have to undergo a ten-day quarantine at the prescribed government locations, and the students themselves will bear the quarantine costs.
