Malaysia to Waive Toll Fees for Private Vehicles During Hari Raya Aidilfitri

Malaysia is set to waive tolls on all highways for private vehicles on April 8 and 9, coinciding with Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Starting from 12:01 am on April 8 until 11:59 pm on April 9, private vehicles can enjoy toll-free access across Malaysian highways, as announced by the Works Ministry in a statement reported by Bernama news agency on March 28. However, it’s important to note that this toll waiver does not extend to plazas at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar and Tanjung Kupang in Johor.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on April 10 and 11 this year, prompting a significant influx of Muslims returning to their hometowns for festive celebrations. Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi expressed to reporters that the decision to waive toll collection reflects a gesture of care and aims to spread the joy of Aidilfitri to all Malaysians. With tolls lifted, it’s anticipated that the number of vehicles on all highway networks will increase by approximately 2.46 million per day, he added.

Motorists planning to travel on the North-South Highway are advised to plan their trips in accordance with the travel time advisory schedule available through the MyPLUS-TTA app.
