Malaysia Ignites Visit Malaysia 2026 with Epic New Year Welcome Across Nation

NEGERI SEMBILAN, MALAYSIA – In a bold New Year’s kickoff, Tourism Malaysia staged dazzling welcome ceremonies at 55 strategic gateways nationwide, officially unveiling the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign to lure global travelers. YB Mrs.

 Nicole Tan Lee Koon, Negeri Sembilan’s State Tourism Executive Council member, spearheaded the flagship events at Seremban’s Plaza Terminal One and Port Dickson Ferry Terminal. These joined parallel festivities across all 13 states at airports, borders, and transport hubs, heralding a cohesive national push for tourism supremacy.

“VM2026 transcends a simple campaign, it’s a movement embodying our unity, warmth, and rich cultural mosaic,” Tan declared. “Greet travelers on day one to showcase Malaysia’s pledge for inclusive, innovative hospitality all year long.

“Backed by state authorities, airlines, airport managers, tourism operators, and corporate backers, the rollout featured seamless logistics and sponsorships. This collaboration amplified visitor experiences, spotlighting Malaysia’s diverse vibrancy and readiness to host the world.

Festive vibes peaked with live Malaysian cultural dances, heritage-infused street performers, modern showcases, and star turns by mascots Wira and Manja. Early arrivals snagged VM2026 souvenirs like custom keychains, etching memories of warmth, variety, and thrill.

The campaign unleashes 300+ events celebrating multiculturalism, from VM2026 Chinese New Year, Aidilfitri, Deepavali, and Christmas Fests to Tadau Ka’amatan and Gawai Dayak. Dive into parades, food feasts, dances, rituals, and grassroots parties year-round.

Aiming for 43 million overseas visitors in 2026, up from 38.3 million January-November 2025, VM2026, themed around the anthem Surreal Experiences, fuels economic engines via festivals, exhibits, and authentic adventures.
