It has been rightly said that you are the creator of your own destiny. Nothing can stop a person from achieving goals if the person is dedicated. The circumstances may be worse, but they can not define who you are as a person. This has been proved by Ms Jyothi Reddy.
Jyothi Reddy was born in 1970 to a family which was financially broke. Because of financial inability, her family was unable to take care of her needs. On the false account of being motherless, she was sent to an orphanage.
She was only 16 years of age when she was married. She had two children. After the marriage, her condition worsened. She was forced to work as a labourer on paddy fields so that she could feed her children.
Later she became a volunteer with the Nehru Yuva Kendra and started to teach. However, the money that came from teaching was not enough to educate and feed her daughters. Battling opposition from family, she completed her education.
In 1994, Reddy completed her BA from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University. She studied for a postgraduate degree in 1997 from the Kakatiya University.
She never had a show or a school bag. She did not want the same to happen to her children. A relative visited from the US and Jyothi finally decided to move to the United States to brighten her prospects. However, life in the US was hard from the beginning. She had to work as a gas station worker, baby-sitter, as a worker in a video game shop and many others.
She used to save money from all these jobs. In 2011, started her company named Key Software Solution Inc in Phoenix. The company has been running successfully ever since.
She is enthusiastically involved in activities that promote the welfare of children in orphanages. She works with NGOs like MV Foundation and Child Rights Advocacy Forum (CRAF), Prajadharana Welfare Society. She has also formed a Pressure Group Force for Orphan Rights and Community Empowerment (FORCE).
She has set an example for every woman in the country to be independent and earn for themselves. A person must never lose hope and keep trying. Poor circumstances or financial instability could not define her life. She has set an example that if you work hard enough, nothing is impossible.
