Jeju Island population declining as young Koreans leave to seek jobs

Population of Jeju has been reducing. It is happening as a result of people  leaving the southern resort island because of lack of jobs. The population is in reduction as the birth rate is decreasing , the number of incoming people from other regions to Jeju decreases. Also the young people of the region are showing their interest to move to other places in search of better job opportunities and a better livelihood .As Jeju depends on tourism for getting money, there are few good jobs with high salaries. In the early 2000’s , there was a trend where people enjoyed living and shifting to Jeju because  young people cherished the break from city life , which the place provided. To balance the reduction in population, the Jeju Provincial Government has made a plan.
