Expert in space science, satellites, space nuclear energy and space exploration, Bhavya has been appointed by NASA as its acting chief of staff.

The Biden administration appointed Bhavya as the executive head of the prestigious US Space Research Agency NASA.
However, Bhavya came into the news only after Biden’s victory in the US, when she was made a member of the Biden Presidential Transition Agency Review Team set up for NASA. As a member of that team, her job was to oversee the agency’s transition to the Biden administration.
The task of that team was to transfer responsibilities from the team of scientists, experts and administrators who were responsible for NASA during the Trump administration. According to NASA’s website, Bhavya Lal will also serve as Senior Advisor on budget and finance in the agency.
Bhavya Lal holds a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering, and a Master of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She had also completed Masters of Science in Technology and Policy from MIT. In addition, she holds a doctoral degree in Public Policy and Public Administration from George Washington University.
