The Delhi Public School in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, India came alive on the evening of November 4th, 2023, as it celebrated the fifth annual festival, “The Legend of Raghav – An Adarsh Jeevan Timeless.” This magnificent event paid tribute to the exemplary life and qualities of Lord Raghav, better known as Lord Rama from the epic Ramayana.
The festival, which aimed to showcase Raghav’s virtues, principles, duties, loyalty, and profound understanding of culture, took the audience on a captivating journey through the life of this revered figure. The event also highlighted the importance of ‘Shraddha,’ symbolizing the qualities of an ideal son, brother, husband, and king.
The Chief Guest for the evening was the Honorable Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari, who served as the former Governor of Maharashtra and Goa, as well as the former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp at 4:45 pm, attended by notable individuals, including Himalaya Education Society Chairman Mr. Bhumesh Aggarwal, Mrs. Rita Aggarwal, and the school’s Principal, Mrs. Ranjana Shahi.
The evening began with the invocation of Maa Saraswati Vandana, setting the tone for the festivities to follow. Students from the school beautifully portrayed various aspects of Lord Raghava’s life and journey, reenacting key moments from the timeless epic, the Ramayana.
A unique and innovative addition to the program was the “Panchtav,” where students from classes 1-4 embodied the five elements of Vayu (air) and expressed their creativity through the sky, air, water, fire, and earth. This segment truly showcased the power of youthful imagination.
Principal Ranjana Shahi presented the annual report of the school, highlighting the school’s activities and achievements while also acknowledging and rewarding outstanding students with the Principal Award.
Honorable Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari addressed the audience, commending the students for their remarkable achievements and the flawless execution of the annual function. He encouraged the students to lead lives guided by moral values and principles, urging them to learn, grow, and thrive while sharing his own life experiences.
Following the Chief Guest’s address, Mr. Vivek Aggarwal, the Pro Vice Chairman, expressed his gratitude to the parents and esteemed members of the gathering for their trust, dedication, and collective efforts. He credited their support for the school’s success and announced the opening of the second branch of the institution, marking the beginning of a golden era.
The grand finale of the evening featured drama and dance performances that beautifully brought to life the legends of Raghava. This heartfelt tribute to the legacy of Lord Rama served as a reminder of the timeless wisdom found in the Ramayana.
The evening concluded with a soul-stirring Vrindagaan (chorus), immersing the audience in devotion and leaving a lasting impression on all in attendance. The fifth annual festival, “The Legend of Raghav,” was a resounding success, celebrating the virtues and values that continue to inspire generations.
