FBI Thwarts New Year’s Eve Bomb Plot by Far-Left ‘Turtle Island Liberation Front’ in California

WASHINGTON — The FBI has dismantled a terrorist bombing scheme targeting companies, ICE agents, and vehicles in Los Angeles and Orange County, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on December 15, charging four suspects with conspiracy and illegal explosives possession.

The “Turtle Island Liberation Front”—a far-left, pro-Palestine, anti-government, and anti-capitalist group—planned to unleash devices at five LA-area sites starting midnight on New Year’s Eve, according to a U.S. District Court complaint in California’s Central District.

Suspects Audrey Illeene Carroll, Zachary Aaron Page, Dante Gaffield, and Tina Lai face charges after Carroll allegedly handed an eight-page “Operation Midnight Sun” manifesto to a confidential informant in November. Page and others reportedly sourced bomb materials, then tested explosives in the Mojave Desert on December 12—but FBI agents halted assembly before completion.

Bondi detailed the plot’s focus on immigration enforcement amid rising threats. “The group was preparing a series of bombings against multiple targets in California beginning on New Year’s Eve,” her statement read, underscoring swift intervention.
