The Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara are a group of Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, and a palace site in Nara, Japan. They were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998 for their outstanding universal value in illustrating the development of Japanese religious and political culture in the 8th century.
The eight properties included in the World Heritage Site are:

- Gangō-ji Temple, which was founded by the Emperor Shōmu in 718. The temple is located in the Nara mountains and is known for its beautiful gardens and its many statues and paintings.
- Yakushi-ji Temple, which is dedicated to the healing Buddha. The temple was founded in 752 and is home to a number of important Buddhist artworks, including the Yakushi Nyorai (healing Buddha) statue.
- Tōshodai-ji Temple, which was founded by the Chinese monk Ganjin in 759. The temple is known for its beautiful architecture and its many important Buddhist artworks, including the Shaka Nyorai (historical Buddha) statue.
- Nara Palace Site, the former site of the imperial palace of Nara. The palace was built in 710 and was the center of government in Japan for centuries.
