Emergency medical supplies delivered to Laos under Asean+3 framework

Lao Deputy Minister for Health Phaivanh Keopaseuth talked expressively about his thankfulness to China for its healthy support for Laos’ medical and health work. A handover ceremony of emergency medical supplies from China to Laos, under the Asean plus China, Japan and South Korea (Asean+3) framework, took place in Lao capital Vientiane on Friday.

Lao Deputy Health Minister Phaivanh Keopaseuth and Chinese Embassy in Laos charge d’affaires Wang Chang were along with those who came to the ceremony. Delivering speech at the ceremony, the Chinese charge d’affaires expressed the handover of medical supplies from China to Laos is a necessary measure to enforce the strategic consensus reached by the main rulers of the two parties and countries. The Chinese charge d’affaires also said China wants to go on to collab with adjacent nations to support one another through all storms, and to create an unbreakable firewall to take care of the security and health of people in the area.

Dr Phaivanh expressed wholeheartedly his thankfulness to China for its prominent support for Laos’ medical and health work. He said that the medical equipment given by China will be a prominent requirement in making Laos’ chairmanship of Asean in 2024. It will also boost the quality of services in line with the strategy of the Lao Ministry of Health by creating hygiene and disease resistence the sole requirement , Dr Phaivanh added.
