Dr. Manindra Mohan has a Ph.D. in the subject of microbiology. He is a scientist at Biotechnology Council (Biotech), Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, India. He is also the founder of Environmental Biotechnology Laboratory of Uttarakhand Council of Biotechnology, Haldi, Pantnagar and has been doing research and development work on quality of drinking water for the last ten years.
Dr. Mohan works with a dedication to enhance the interest of the students in the field of science education, research and environment through new researches, innovations and scientific articles.
Dr. Mohan is also engaged in developing the skills and competence of youth through training and workshops in the field of environmental biotechnology research and development. He has been working hard to increase the interest in biotechnology among the students at both, school and university level.
So far, Dr. Mohan has trained 22 graduate students for six months while about 40 undergraduate students have been trained under a one month skill development program, who now earn their livelihood by working in various fields.
More than 45 scientific articles written by Dr. Mohan has been published in various reputed newspapers and magazines. Apart from this, Dr. Mohan is very conscious about environmental protection and makes the general public aware about the conservation of the environment through water conservation and tree plantation programs.
Since last March till now, under the guidance of Dr. Mohan, more than 500 hundred different types of beneficial and medicinal plants have been planted and distributed in residential, public and government establishments of Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital district of Uttarakhand, India.
At present, Dr. Mohan is doing research on the water quality, micro-biodiversity and factors of pollution of the main water sources of rivers and lowlands. More than 35 research papers of Dr. Mohan has been published in various prestigious national and international research journals.
He has been honoured with several awards. He has been awarded twice the Young Scientist Award and has also been awarded with the National Inspiration Award. He has been able to amplify the interest of students towards microbiology and environment protection. Dr. Maninder Mohan is a source of inspiration for the youth of the state.
