NGOs play an imperative role in the development of a country. They play a crucial role in preserving the dignity of individual citizens.
Divyang Pratishthan, Pune, India, is an NGO which supports and encourages the differently abled citizens. Differently abled people are grossly discriminated against and humiliated. Often they are socially boycotted. Divyang Pratishthan is doing a noble cause of helping the differently abled. They also organize marriage ceremonies for differently abled men and women.
This NGO was established on June 21, 2019 by Mr. Harishchandra Sarade, currently President of the NGO. He is also physically handicapped. He is very down to earth. Going through the same challenges, he truly understands the pain and suffering. He along with Mr Jaydeep Patil, executive member of the NGO and his team recently organized a mass wedding of 15 couples in the city of Pune, India. Since 2020, this NGO has organized the mass marriage of 38 couples. The marriage was conducted following all Maharashtrian Rituals.
Various organizations help by contributing to buy small flour machines, Xerox machines and other necessary household items so that they could move forward in their life by starting their small business and are not dependent on anyone. This amazing event was attended by various socialites and dignitaries of the city. We all just need more NGOs like Divyang Pratishthan. It is on a journey to make this very society an ideal one for all of us to live in.
