Discover a temple in Kerala where the God likes to Munch chocolates

Chemmoth Sree Subramanya Swami temple is located in Alappuzha district in Kerala, India. Lord Murugan is worshipped here. Lord Murugan is also known as ‘God of War’. It seems to be an ordinary temple from the outside. But the unique thing about this temple is that munch chocolate is offered by the devotees in this temple. But how is the munch chocolate related to Lord Murugan?
It is believed that it happened many years ago that a child fell ill and he kept calling Lord Murugan in his sleep. His parents brought him to the temple the other day and offered flowers. But the child was adamant to share his favourite chocolate with Lord Murugan. Even the god had to accept before the innocence of the child and he recovered from the illness. A few people will raise objections behind the logic of this story. But it is a fact that as the story spread the devotees started replacing ‘ladoo’ with ‘Munch’.
In the past years people have believed that Lord Murugan loves the chocolate munch the most. So, people ask for a wish and they offer munch when it gets fulfilled. By the way, people also offer ladoo, peda and ghee but munch chocolate has a special place. Little devotees form huge lines to get chocolate munch as prasad. Children visit this temple with much love as they get chocolate in prasad. Some people also do Tulabharam for their children in this temple. Here god is offered the offertory as the weight of the children. This is the amazing fact about Indians. Here people understand logic but also believe in Magic.
