Deaths in Mexico due to heat

The temperature is rising so much that people in Mexico are now facing death. Eight people lost their lives while fighting with so much heat. Seven of them died due to heat stroke and one lost his life due to dehydration. In some of the cities, electricity demand is rising led to power cuts and water pressure is reduced. Monterrey, the city is located in an industrial zone which is why it is experiencing even more heat. “There is a less water, you can’t bathe the children or even use a fan because they cut the power,” a resident told AFP. She said her family is attempting to take care of their water consumption in body to protect themselves from heatstroke.

The government of Nuevo Leon state, where Monterrey is located, has limited the time children have to stay in school to two hours a day to avoid any serious dehydration or heat stroke issues to the children. In 2022, Mexico had talked about a drought emergency in some parts of the nation as heatwave had to rise and lack of rain depleted reservoirs. Members of authorities in some cities, which also includes Monterrey, permits the households to receive running water for only a couple of hours per day for many weeks .
