The higher education ministry of Malaysia has announced that all the private universities, as well as colleges, can proceed on with the international examinations even if the locations are under CMCO.
This decision will allow the IPTS to continue with the exams that were designed during the National Security Council Meeting, and they will have to follow the fixed schedules.
This exemption will allow around 3031 local and 195 international students that are under the CMCO ( four states and federal territories). The catch in this situation is that these students will have to obtain letters from their institutions that verify them, and then only they can attend the examination.
As per the ministry, the students who are allowed for the exams are sitting for exams like Australian Matriculation, Canadian Pre-u, GCE A-level examinations etc.
This exemption will also allow the students who are taking professional qualification tests like ACCA 9assocuarionn of chartered certifies accountants).
The statement released by the ministry stated that this exemption is subjected to the procedures laid down by the authorities as well as the decisions laid down by the government.
As the covid 19 cases are rising day by day, the federal territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Selangor, and subah are under two weeks CMCO.
