Indira Hridayesh has worked hard all her life for women’s upliftment and to increase the level of education in Uttarakhand. Unfortunately, she is no longer with us. But her dedication and work will always be remembered.
She had played an important role in the Congress party in Uttarakhand. People wanted to see her as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. Congress party has suffered huge loss because of her departure.
At the forefront of several community service efforts, it was always Dr. Indira Hridayesh. She had rich administrative experience and also made a mark as an effective legislator. She was always eager to raise issues of public interest in the assembly.
Indira was only 33 years old when she became a member of the Legislative Council. Indira became a member of the UP Legislative Council for the first time in 1974. It was only because of her abilities that she became one of the top leaders of the Congress even at such a young age.
On 9 November 2000, Uttarakhand was separated from Uttar Pradesh. When the Uttarakhand government was formed, Indira was elected as the leader of the opposition.
In March 2002, N.D Tiwari became the Chief Minister and Indira became MLA for the first time in Haldwani. In N.D Tiwari’s government, Indira was made minister of PWD, Finance and Parliamentary departments. Indira was called super chief minister.
She always stood by her words and fulfilled all her promises. She was a great political figure whose way of working has given inspiration and courage to many.
Her organizational and administrative qualities were exceptional. He had legislative experience of more than 50 years. Her political and social contributions are inspirational. She worked till the end of her life for the public.
She was direct in her approach and open to constructive criticism. It was ingrained in her heart that it is her responsibility to serve the people of her nation. She was a humble leader who always talked about women empowerment.
She was a brave leader and a popular public representative. For four decades, she played a significant role in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. She is also remembered for her deep knowledge on parliamentary procedures.
The unfortunate demise of Indira Hridayesh is a great loss not just for the Congress Party but for the nation. Such leaders are rare who dedicate their life and work to serve the people. Her Persona and work are an inspiration for all women. On her sudden demise, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with other veteran leaders of the nation expressed grief.
