Mendaki to Revamp Tuition with AI, Coaching Support

SINGAPORE – Mendaki will enhance its tuition programme under its 2026–2030 work plan by tailoring lessons to different learning abilities, training tutors to serve as coaches and mentors, and integrating artificial intelligence into the curriculum. Chairman Zaqy Mohamad said the move aims to keep pace with curriculum changes in schools while providing greater support for students who may not receive enough personalised attention. He added that beyond academic improvement, the programme will help build students’ confidence and open career pathways, strengthening social mobility.

The Mendaki Tuition Programme currently benefits over 9,500 students across 100 centres, including community-based hubs. During a visit to Bedok Green Primary School on Sept 27, Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Faishal Ibrahim announced Colonel Mohamed Feroz Mohamed Akber as Mendaki’s next CEO, effective Nov 1, succeeding Zuraidah Abdullah. Prof Faishal said he is confident Mr Feroz will lead the organisation to address future challenges and opportunities.
